This 4-minute routine should be done 3 or more times a day for maximum benefit. Now that the holidays are over, I made a video to help you jump start your fitness New Year’s resolution. Even a daily 4-minute workout will help you with your weight loss goals or improve your overall health. Some people create unrealistic goals and when they don’t see results they give up. In this short video workout I want to demonstrate that even a small step will accomplish more in the long run. Set realistic goals and do not stop once you achieve them, make fitness part of your lifestyle, your body will appreciate it.
There are many reasons why people do not stick to their fitness resolutions. One reason is lack of time. Many people think that if they do not have 1 hour to exercise it is not worth the effort. What they do not know is that 1 hour can be divided in bouts of 10 minutes or why not in periods of 4-5 minutes at a time. That is why I want to show you a quick and effective workout called Tabata.
New Year’s Resolution – Weight Loss Workout Challenge
Tabata was designed to keep you moving for ideally 20 seconds at high intensity with only 10-second breaks during the 4-minute routine. This is how you do it: start with 20 seconds per exercise at high intensity followed by a 10-second break.
The Workout
- Skaters
- Plank Jacks
- 2 x Squats + 1 x Hop
- Climbers with Twist
* This routine is a total time of four (4) minutes to complete. *
Tabata was created by a Japanese scientist named Izumi Tabata. Tabata studied this exercise technique with different groups of athletes and concluded that the participants improved their overall aerobic performance and kept burning calories after the workout was done (after burn).
This is only a 4-minute routine. For best results repeat as many Tabatas as you can during the day. If your goal is to lose weight and fat quickly … it is recommended that you will perform 3 to 5 Tabatas during the day.
Best wishes from the team at Spin-Fit and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
